Rio Hondo College 2018 Study in Taiwan
The 2018 Taiwan Experience Education Program provides Rio Hondo College students with a tuition free, all-expenses paid internships. The College’s agreements with Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Tainan allow students to choose a six-week or semester program or a semester long program. All three programs include home-stay lodging with a host family, free Chinese language lessons, cultural classes and local trips, and more. Part of the program’s objective is to develop English-integrated teaching materials and assessment tools that promote English learning to young Taiwanese students.

Travel to Taipei city to study as a University of Taipei student and work as a Teacher’s Assistant.

Taipei City is the capital of the Republic of China (commonly referred to as Taiwan). Taipei City is widely regarded as the political, economic, and cultural center of Taiwan. Taipei City is located in the northern part of the island in a basin between the Yangming Mountains and the Central Mountains. The city is modern with several historical and social attractions, including markets, shopping districts, coffee houses, and museums. Taipei City boasts 2.6 million residents. 2. STUDY ABROAD IN NEW TAIPEI CITY
Travel to New Taipei City and work as a Teacher’s Assistant in one of the ten middle schools.

3. STUDY ABROAD IN TAINAN CITY
Travel to Tainan City and work as a Teacher’s Assistant in public secondary or elementary schools in Tainan City.
*Tainan City is considered the birthplace of Taiwan. It is the oldest city on the island. Tainan City has several historical and cultural attractions, vast natural landscape, and is known for its fish products and cuisine. The Taiwan International Orchid Show is held in Houbi Township’s Taiwan Orchid Plantation in the spring.
